Connecting Shopify with Ongoing

How to integrate Shopify with Ongoing WMS

This is the link to the most current version: https://docs.ongoingwarehouse.com/integrations/shopify#get-started

  1. Install the app Ongoing WMS in the Shopify App Store.
  2. When the app is installed you will be redirected to the Ongoing landing page:

Here you will be asked to provide credentials for the WMS where you want to setup the integration.
Username and Password correspond to the user and password for the WMS that Brizo has sent you in a separate email.
In the box marked System you shall enter https://brizo.ongoingsystems.se/brizo/

  3. Once the correct information is provided and the login button clicked you will be redirected to Ongoing WMS.
  4. As the final step before creating the integration in your Ongoing WMS you can fine tune the integration settings. Once you are done click the Create button to create the integration.

Multiple warehouses/locations

  • Shopify supports multiple warehouses, called Locations
  • In Shopify you can also create a Shipping Profile, including:
    • Products
    • Origins: Warehouse/Location
    • Destinations: Shipping Zones = countries
    • Carriers and carrier rates
  • A country is the smallest geographical unit (Shipping Zone) in Shopify (exception: postal codes for Shopify Local Pickup), so we can set up a profile for Sweden, but not Stockholm.

Checklist for multiple locations:

  1. Product page: Select locations that stock the selected products/variants
  2. Product page: Uncheck “Continue selling when out of stock”.
  3. Settings → Shipping and delivery: Set up Order Routing rules (“ranked locations”)
  4. Settings → Shipping and delivery: Make sure all locations ship. Use same name for transporter across all rates.

Note: It can’t split an order and ship 1 from each location.
